PROJECT NAME:
TEAHOUSE
ARCHITECT AND INTERIOR DESIGNER:
TSAO & MCKOWN ARCHITECTS
The house is inspired by traditional Japanese architecture. The structure is formed of exposed heavy timber construction, which has the added advantage of reducing the need for interior walls. The load-bearing timber beams span the interiors and, with their darkened hues, recede from view as they frame the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the gardens and surrounding woods.
